Camille Jenkins

Bio

Camille Jenkins is a producer, director, writer, teaching artist, and creative leader. Equity, exploration, and collaboration are the tenants that she lives by both professionally and personally. Her formal education includes a BFA in Performing Arts in 2013, followed by a MA in Arts Administration in 2016, both from Savannah College of Art and Design.

 

Camille has developed and taught performing arts curriculum for Riverside Children’s Theatre and Unique Minds, Inc and worked with innovative organizations such as The Wallis, Ubuntu (now Oakland) Theatre Project, Four Larks, IAMA Theatre Company, Black Rebirth Collective, and Big Little Theater Company.

 

Select producing and directing credits include Menstruation: A Period Piece (Big Little Theater Company and the Los Angeles LGBT Center) lead producer; King Lear starring Joe Morton (The Wallis) associate director; Unmasked: A Theatrical Celebration of Black Women’s Liberation (The Wallis and Black Rebirth Collective) co-director and producer; The Goddesses Guide: Adura for the Women of African Diaspora (Hollywood Fringe Festival) writer, director, producer; Spoken Perceptions: Interactive Poetry Showcase (Non-Fiction Gallery) producer and director; and Mama Metal (IAMA Theatre Company) associate producer. 


Currently Camille is directing Failure: A Love Story by Phil Dawkins at Pomona College. Her focus is on creating more artistic opportunities, as well as addressing inequalities in the arts and arts education for people of color, women, and queer communities. She welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with fellow artists as a producer, director, writer, teaching artist, and consultant.
